Set Up Your Store

 

Setting up your store is really easy. After you register as a vendor click on Vendor Dashboard from the My Account page.

The vendor dashboard will look like this. From here click on Settings and navigate to your store settings.

 

Store Settings

The store settings is where you can update all the details about your store. Things like store address, payment details, shipping details and terms and conditions.

The store settings page will look like the image below.

 

STORE BANNER – Store banner represents your store identity, brand and concept. It captures the buyers attention and promotes your brand. You can update this image by navigating to Vendor DashboardSettings page. Begin by uploading a banner. The banner needs to be 625 x 300 px. Also add a profile picture for your store, this needs to be 150 x 150 px.

STORE DETAILS – Set your store details to tell your prospective customers where you are based, your contact details such as email and phone number. It is important that this is set up properly or else your profile will appear incomplete. First impressions count a lot in online trading as you do not have direct human contact. It is important that your store is complete and looks professional.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – On the store details page, if you click this box, a separate tab will appear on your store page with your store terms and conditions. Use this section to set your store policy, whatever they are. You can set things like returns policies, terms and conditions. Once done, click UPDATE SETTINGS.

 

DISCOUNT – You can set a discount that applies to all products in your store. Check this box and add your discount details.

ENABLE SUPPORT – Allow customers to get in touch with you via the store ticket system. Access support tickets by navigating to Vendor DashboardSupport page.

Payments

This is one of the most important aspect of your store. Unless you connect your store to a Stripe account, you may not be able sell anything in our marketplace. To create a Stripe account click on the Connect with Stripe button.

 

Shipping

This page contains your store-wide shipping settings and costs. You can enable/disable shipping zones for your products. If you want set your shipping rates it is very important that you enable shipping from this page. To edit an existing zone, hover over the zone you would to edit and click Edit or click Add Shipping Method for the zone that you would like to ship to. Only add shipping methods to zones that you wish to ship to.

 

Here you can limit your zone to specific locations, postal codes or areas. Under Shipping Method, click Add Shipping Method and choose between Flat, Local Shipping and Free Shipping.

 

To edit the shipping rates, hover over the method title until you see Edit/Delete, click Edit.

 

For Flat Rate Shipping you can set the following parameters:

Title – The shipping method title that will displayed at the customer checkout.

Cost – Enter a default flat rate cost (excl. tax) or sum, e.g. 10.00 * [qty]. Use [qty] for the number of items, [cost] for the total cost of items, and [fee percent='10' min_fee='20' max_fee=''] for percentage based fees. Please note this cost will apply to all shipped products in your store.

Tax Status – Choose to add tax to your shipping cost.

Description – A note about the shipping method.

 

For Local Shipping you can set:

Title – The shipping method title that will displayed at the customer checkout.

Cost – Enter a local shipping rate cost (excl. tax).

Tax Status – Choose to add tax to your shipping cost.

Description – A note about the shipping method.

 

For Free Shipping you can set the minimum order amount for free shipping to apply.

 

Shipping Classes

What if you want your shipping price to vary by product or a group of products? For this you need Shipping Classes that are available under the Flat Rate shipping method. We have installed 5 shipping classes for you to use, Class A, B, C, D and E. You can set a different shipping cost to each class and then assign each class to a specific product or group of products. The shipping class cost will be added to the flat rate cost set above.

Cost – Set the cost for each shipping class and when no shipping class is used. Enter a cost (excl. tax) or sum, e.g. 10.00 * [qty]. Use [qty] for the number of items, [cost] for the total cost of items, and [fee percent='10' min_fee='20' max_fee=''] for percentage based fees.The shipping class cost will be added to the flat rate cost set above.

Calculation Type – Per class means the total cost of all shipping classes in the order will be charged to the customer. Per order means only the most expensive shipping class cost of the order will be charged to the customer.

 

Social Profiles

Your social presence is very important. It helps you promote your store and connect with your customers.  Here you can link your social profiles with your store. These will appear on the side of your store.

 

Store SEO

This is very important. This section determines how your store will look when shared on the Facebook and Twitter and when it appears in Google.

Make sure you set a good SEO Title. Almost always, this should be your store name or you can set it as a brief descriptive title of what you sell. Think: what will get the readers attention?

Provide a brief short description.
